LOL Flights

I understand that flight routing algorithms have to show all feasible routes between a source and destination, but, it does not mean that it has to show all "possible" routes to a destination.

Take this route plan which was generated.

Which is quite awesome considering NY to Chicago is approx a 2.5hr flight which costs $184 at the worst.

We are talking about reaching C from A and A-B-C is the genius route suggested.

Why leave international destinations?! Generate a 2 day flying schedule which costs $30,000. People will feel a lot better :|

Worst cliche ever

"Life is a roller coaster" has to be the worst cliche ever.
It is totally illogical and some guy high on negative IQ might have cooked it up while smoking some parthenium plant pollen in a gasoline cooled hooka. Agreed that a roller coaster has ups and downs, but it is in no way on par with the ups and downs of life.

Here are my reasons
  1. The best part in a roller coaster is when is zooms down.
Not with life. It hurts like crazy in life to go down. If you loose something, say a phone, it is considered as a "down" part of your life. It is no fun to loose something or someone.
  2. In a roller coaster, you are absolutely certain that the car will go back to where it started and that it will let you get off. It keeps you tied safely in the car until the ride is over ( unless you are in some dilapidated "amusement" park where some drunk guy comes and literally ties your seat belts to the chair because they lack buckles).
Not with life. You don't know where you are going. If you don't know how to pull yourself back up, there is no way you can go back unless there is some help.
  3. When you sit in a roller coaster, you scream at twists and turns and ups and downs in happiness and thrill. How many of us can be happy when you start losing stuff you love?
Although I have many more points to rant about, I will refrain from it for the greater good of the universe.

Note to self: We will get it. Again.

Boiled Brains

We recently hit 100 questions on boiledbeans.net. I dint know how much bb had influenced me until this happened today.

I was peeling an onion to prepare one of my cooking masterpieces ( I get the color of the final product always right. The taste however always remains at none ). When one of the peeled skins looked like this

My immediate reaction was: "Hey this looks like an Interrupted sinusoidal map (projection of a sphere), which makes an awesome question for bb!!"

:)
Update(After approx 15 mins): I just realized that by posting this entry, I killed the question. Damn!
