It beats coffee

The brain apparently has a gating mechanism for most signals. It overrides an already registered signal when you experience a more intense version of the same signal. What it means is that if you are in pain, say your leg hurts like crazy, if you register another more intense pain, like hurting your hand, the leg wont hurt anymore because the brain gates all other signals but the strongest one.

This evenly applies to addictions, obsessions or any registrable brain signal. Lets say you are obsessed with some female, until you are obsessed with something else more than her, it apparently is impossible for the brain to snap out of it.

I _was_ addicted to coffee, until I bought a PLAYSTATION 3(Words cannot describe its awesomeness). Ever since I started playing "The Orange Box", I can hear Aperture Lab's background music in my room when I am sleeping. When I walk, I hear sentry guns beep. I get paranoid at intersections and look out for guns. I have dreams where I own a Portal gun. I no longer feel the need of human interaction. Ok, the last one was a streach, but I am not lying about the others.

I hope coffee comes back as my addiction because I am staying up till 4am playing TF2 with unknown cyber characters.

Anyways, here are a few more shots of my new obsession:
